Trained as an economist, his “love affair” with photography began in 1977, and like the majority of the authors of his generation, he was self-taught. At the start of the eighties, he entered the Royal Photographic Society of Madrid where he met Gerardo Vielba, Gabriel Cualladó, Paco Gómez and Juan Dolcet. In 1990, he travelled to Cuzco, Peru, in order to make, together with Juan Manuel Díaz Burgos, the positive prints of the Peruvian master, Martin Chambi, based on the original glass plates.

Economista de formación, su vinculación con la fotografía comienza en 1977 y, como la mayoría de los autores de su generación, lo hace de forma autodidacta. A comienzos de los años ochenta, ingresa en la Real Sociedad Fotográfica de Madrid donde conoce a Gerardo Vielba, Gabriel Cualladó, Paco Gómez y Juan Dolcet. En 1990 viajó a Cuzco, Perú, para hacer junto a Juan Manuel Díaz Burgos los positivos del maestro peruano Martín Chambi a partir de las placas de cristal originales.
